Highlights from the OC half Marathon:
OC half Marathon surface time: 2:01:46 typical speed – 9:18
Last year my time was 1:45:07 typical speed – 8:02 I was a great deal slower this year for a few reasons…
Taking time off from running to freeze my eggs last month as well as the healing complying with that.
I’m training for a full marathon – I wished to add a few miles to the end of the race so I needed to speed myself for more.
I stopped 2 times during the race [explained below]
I ran the race with Kristin @Stuftmama as well as she is building back up as well as a lil slower best now [she’s quick however hasn’t run a full marathon in 3 years]

7. I online in Orange region as well as saw a ton of familiar faces!! bunun gibi! Pam (and guest on the RER podcast) ran as well as it was just her birthday!! I likewise saw a few Sole Runners… Natalia pacing… Sheila running with youngsters rock as well as Kelly dressed in the cutest shimmer gear!
8. My very first stop during the race was to take a picture with the star Wars guys!
9. A few miles later we ran by some homes as well as I discovered a lady holding a adorable lil baby… I believed she looked familiar as well as told Kristin I believe I understand her… wait, I believe she’s Kate Casey, hold of the Kate Casey podcast.
So I insisted we go back to ask. Yep – it was her! Her show is about truth TV if ya wanna inspect it out. Her site is like as well as Knuckles … however if you want to inspect out the podcast just browse her name in your preferred pod app.

After the race Kristin as well as I didn’t feel like running much more – it was getting hot as well as for some reason we both didn’t feel great. as well as I was concerned Diego ought to be let out [ I’m going to have to get a pup sitter for long runs as well as full marathons soon!]. So we went to my place, let Diego out as well as then ran 2 much more miles.

11. overall mileage for Sunday – 15.6 miles. It was slow, however it’s the very first time I’ve ever made myself run additional after a race so I’m happy of myself!!
12. I believed I had never run additional mileage before or after a race however I just kept in mind I have!! A few years back I ran the Duxberry half Marathon with Tina from @carrotsncake – she was training for Boston as well as needed to run 20 miles for her last long run.
We ran the additional 7 miles before the half marathon. I believe that’s the method to go – run it before if you have additional mileage. So I have done that! I’ve added additional miles before just not after (which is 100% the method to go.)
